Greetings Hoops Fans! This is Dave Horning for HoopsOnLane.com Fan Podcast with a post-game review of the Ohio State Buckeyes victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Buckeyes winning by the score of 64 to 59.

With this win, Ohio State is now in first place in the Big Ten with a record of 9 wins against no losses – a half-game ahead of 8-0 Purdue!

It was a tough game for the Buckeyes – Nebraska played very tough defense, and Ohio State shot poorly from behind the 3-point arc, making just 2 of 14 3-point shots.

An example of Nebraska’s tough defense:

Nebraska is a well-coached team. They played tough defense, and got a great game from their best player, James Palmer, who scored 34 points! He was 5 of 11 on his 3-point shots, and he could have scored more except that Jae’Sean Tate was playing him tough – it was just that Palmer was that good last Monday night. He was the Big Ten’s Best Player on Monday night.

Jae’Sean blocks James Palmer’s 3-point shot – holding him to just 34 points.

Because of foul trouble, Kaleb Wesson only got 13 minutes of playing time, but he was the difference when he was in the game. With 3-point shots not falling, Keita Bates-Diop, Jae’Sean Tate and Kaleb Wesson had to score down low, and they did – enough to pull out a tough win.

Keita finishes with 20 points, Jae’Sean hits for 17, and Kaleb scores 12 in 13 minutes of playing time.

Keita Bates-Diop scores an alley-oop dunk on a GREAT PASS and assist by CJ Jackson

Kaleb Wesson displays a nice shooting touch and shows why it is tough to guard him down low

Incredible save by CJ Jackson to Andrew Dakich who assists Keita Bates-Diop!

CJ Jackson hits a 3-point shot in the first half to give Ohio State a 24-22 lead – assist to Jae’Sean Tate

With Ohio State having an off-night shooting the 3-point shot, baskets underneath were the best and highest percentage shots – watch how Jae’Sean Tate scores on a drive for 2:

Jae’Sean Tate gives Ohio State a two-possession lead at 62 to 56 with this drive and 2-point basket with an assist by Kaleb Wesson with 1:08 left
