Greetings Hoops Fans, this is Dave Horning for Hoops on Lane Fan Podcast with a preview of today’s game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Stanford Cardinal to be played at 9:00pm Columbus Time (sorry the audio is wrong – the audio says 3:00pm) on ESPN2 and broadcast on radio at The Fan 97.1 FM. This is Session 7 in the Motion Bracket of the PK80 Invitational – and if this sounds confusing – it is. Go to for a view of the brackets and a better understanding of this tournament which features two side-by-side 8-team tournaments – there will be two champions – one in the Motion Bracket where Ohio State and Stanford are playing and one in the other bracket – the Victory Bracket. But neither Ohio State no Stanford will be a champion as both teams lost on Thanksgiving night … Ohio State to Gonzaga 59-86 and Stanford to Florida by the score of 87 to 108.

Stanford will start three forwards and two Guards:
Number 10 – 6’9” Senior Forward MICHAEL HUMPHREY
Number 22 – 6’8″ Junior Forward REID TRAVIS
Number 13 – 6’9″ Freshman Forward OSCAR DA SILVA
Number 1 – 6’3” Freshman Guard DAEJON DAVIS
Number 4 – 6’1” Freshman Guard ISAAC WHITE

Key Subs:
Number 20 7’0″ Junior Center JOSH SHARMA
Number 2 6-2 Junior Guard ROBERT CARTWRIGHT

Josh Sharma shot 2 for 2 on 3-pointers and Robert Cartwright was 2 for 4 on his 3-point shots. Look for them to get plenty of playing time, and maybe even a start against the Buckeyes. The rest of the Stanford team was only 3 of 11 on their 3’s – while their opponent, Florida, Shot 15 of 22 for 68% on their 3 point shots! That is obviously the key statistic that explains the win my Florida over Stanford. Stanford also had 18 turnovers in their game against Florida, so let’s hope that the Buckeyes can force that again today.

This is Dave Horning for Hoops on Lane Fan Podcast – Game time is today, Friday, November 24 at 3:00pm Columbus Time. Win or Lose, the Buckeyes will play again on Sunday, November 26 at 9:00am to 3:00pm Columbus time. Goodbye and Go Bucks!
